DESCRIPTION

Alchechengi, a fruit with a sour and slightly citrus character, rich in nutrients and particularly flexible in the kitchen. The berries of alechechengi also called Physalis or berries of the Inca, are good both as a snack eaten as it is, but also excellent for dressing salads or for making pies and sorbets. Given the presence of pectin, they are suitable for the preparation of jams. A precious idea: pour a handful of berries into the morning tea or the evening herbal tea. High in Potassium which contributes to normal muscle function. High in Vitamin B3 which contributes to normal energy metabolism. Source of Iron which contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
This oriental fruit is currently used in Chinese medicine against water retention due to its strong ability to induce diuresis. Its extract is used in the treatment of kidney stones, gout and rheumatism, all problems caused by an excess of uric acid; this is why the alchechengi is able to reduce the amount of acid in the blood and promotes its elimination through the urine. The mix of tannins, citric acid and sugars contained in the plant is precious but above all the quantity of vitamin C present in the berry is even double compared to other fruits.
