Adjust the distance between the two shells, at the level of the heel, by acting on the lateral tie rods of the heel. Apply the valve to both sides of the ankle in order to cover the malleoli. The strap must be located on the outside of the leg. The closing direction of the straps should be clockwise for the right ankle and counterclockwise for the left ankle. If necessary, rotate the buckles appropriately to orient the straps to the correct side. Apply and tighten the lower strap, insert the foot wearing the orthosis into a spacious and stable shoe (the shoe must be adjustable with laces or with self-adhesive closure). Adjust the closure of the shoe. Apply the top strap. After a few days of use, the straps may loosen; in this case tighten properly again. If localized disturbance appears, loosen the straps and reposition the shells.
