Positioning
The GENUGIB® Knee Brace is available in one size; however, a preliminary test is necessary for a correct fit and a good understanding of the positioning of the orthosis. The joints must be strictly adjusted before placing the brace. To change the setting, unscrew the transparent cover with a coin (1, 2 or 5 cents) and place the four pins in the holes located at the corners chosen according to the indications provided by the prescriber. Insert the orthosis with the straight GIBAUD logo. Leave the straps in the buckles by loosening them to facilitate positioning of the knee brace. The orthosis can be worn in direct contact with the skin or over trousers.
If necessary, adjust the upper and lower flanges with the hook and loop fastener until the joints are parallel and centered with respect to the knee.
The two side pads are removable and can be removed in case of discomfort.
Then adjust the upper and lower straps first and then the intermediate straps. The intermediate strap is equipped with a silicone stabilizing element which must be positioned on the tibial crest.
Finish adjusting the straps for strong, comfortable support. The joints must be parallel and centered with respect to the knee.
