Positioning
- Correct evaluation of the length: place the center of the joint halfway up the knee or slightly above it (about 1 cm). Check if it is necessary to adjust the length of the articulated slats.
- Length adjustment: the articulated splint is set at a length of approximately 57 cm. To adjust the length, turn the adjustment lever half a turn (180 degrees) to the unlock position (drawing on the slats of the open padlock).
The metal slats are provided with numbered notches for the position and for the corresponding alignment.
To lengthen the articulated splints:
remove the protective pads.
Pull out the battens to the desired length.
The extracted parts of the splints can be bent to better adapt to the individual anatomy.
The maximum length is about 72cm.
To shorten the articulated ribs: The extendable parts of the articulated ribs can be removed to bring the Innovator DLX® to a minimum length of approx. 43 cm. In this case, remove the tear-off straps from the extracted parts and reposition them by inserting them into the free loops of the brace.
Once the desired length is reached, turn the adjustment lever back to the locked position (drawing on the slats of the closed padlock). - Cutting the padding and straps: after finding and adjusting the appropriate length, cut the excess padding as much as necessary. If necessary, the straps can also be shortened by cutting them after removing the ends of the hook and loop fastener.
- Closing the straps: It is recommended to wear the orthosis directly on the skin. Fasten all straps starting with the two closest to the knee and tightly close them to prevent the orthosis from sliding down.
- Non-slip strap: if desired, this accessory can be fixed in the holes located on the inside of the joint, by pressing the snaps on the buckles of the strap.
- Removal and re-application: To remove the Innovator DLX® unfasten the straps and remove the orthosis without removing the pad. The orthosis can be put on again easily by simply reattaching the straps.
- Range of motion adjustment ROM (Range of Motion): to adjust the range of motion in flexion-extension press the white flex button and blue extension button (ext) and rotate them until the desired degree appears in the corresponding window of flexion or extension.
Blocking the yellow cursor: establish the desired blocking angle. Align the adjustment arrow with the selected angle (0 °, 15 °, 30 °, 45 °). Close the yellow lock slider to fix the selected corner.
Safety: to prevent the selected flexion-extension adjustments from being inadvertently changed, use the locking bands supplied, inserting them into the upper holes of the white and blue flex-extension buttons, fixing them
