Indications
Elastocompressive cuffs are indicated in the treatment of primary and secondary lymphedema of the upper limbs.
Class 1: post-operative lymphedema prophylaxis after mastectomy with or without radiotherapy. Moderate lymphedema. Prophylaxis of relapses of lymphedema at the end of decongestant therapy.
Class 2: for soft lymphedema of recent formation and difficult to regress. Stagnation and swelling after mastectomy with or without radiotherapy. Treatment of secondary lymphedema. Post-traumatic and post-operative edema after basic treatment.
Contraindications
• Acute and chronic skin inflammation
• Open wounds
• Localized infections
• Arterial circulatory problems of the upper limb.
