GlucoMen Areo B-Ketone Sensor
Glucomen Areo Sensor what it is for
In vitro diagnostic medical device.
This product are Sensors for self-monitoring of ketonemia with the GlucoMen areo 2K instrument.
They are sensors suitable for the quantitative determination of beta-hydroxybutyrate (BOHBo beta-ketone) in fresh capillary whole blood.
Use the GlucoMen areo Beta-Ketone Sensor only with the GlucoMen areo 2K instrument.
The GlucoMen areo 2K system has been designed for home monitoring and self-control of blood glucose and beta-ketone levels and can also be used in a hospital setting by medical-health personnel.
The system is not intended for use in the diagnosis or screening of ketonemia (DKA) or for use in neonates.
Do not change therapy based on ketone test results without first consulting your doctor or healthcare professional.

Calibration and traceability | the GlucoMen areo 2K system was calibrated to the plasma reference values determined with a StanbioBeta-Hydroxybutyrate LiquiColor procedure, Procedure No. 2440 (Stanbio Laboratory, 1261 North MainStreet, Boerne, Texas 78006). The analyzer using the Stanbio kit (secondary reference measurement procedure) was calibrated with a series of standards containing beta-hydroxybutyrate (primary calibrators) prepared by gravimetric method at the Stanbio Laboratory. |

How to use
- Introduce a new GlucoMen areo Beta-Ketone Sensor (light purple color) into the sensor insertion opening. The drop symbol will start flashing on the display and the ketone symbol "Keth" will appear at the bottom left. If nothing appears on the display, remove the sensor, insert it back into the opening and wait for the drop symbol to start flashing.
- Keep the tip of the sensor in contact with the drop of blood until the sight glass is full. You will hear a beep (if enabled) and the display will show a countdown.
- Read the test results. An acoustic signal will announce that the test result will appear on the screen with the ketone symbol "Keth". The symbol will flash until the instrument is turned off.
- To remove the sensor, press the eject button. The instrument will turn off.
Do not use GlucoMen areo Beta-Ketone Sensors to test samples taken from alternative sites: use only fresh capillary blood taken from the fingertips.
Warnings
GlucoMen areo Beta-Ketone Sensors are intended for in vitro diagnostic use only (for external use only).
The results may be incorrect if the patient is dehydrated, severely hypertensive, in shock, or in a hyperosmolar state.
Do not test critically ill patients.
If the results of the blood ketonemia test are not compatible with the state of health perceived by the patient despite having followed all the instructions indicated in the user manual of the GlucoMen areo 2K instrument, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Never make any significant changes to your diabetes control plan without first talking to your doctor.
Keep the instrument, sensors and other system components out of the reach of children. Small parts can be a choking hazard.
Handle the sensors with clean, dry hands.
Dispose of used lancets (needles) and sensors in accordance with local regulations.
Handling blood can be dangerous; use extreme caution when handling blood, sensors, lancets (needles) and the meter.
storage
Store the aluminum blister of the sensors at a temperature of 4-30 ° C; do not freeze and do not refrigerate.
Avoid exposure to moisture, heat and direct sunlight. Do not use sensors past their expiration date as it may cause incorrect results.
Check the expiration date on the aluminum blister.
GlucoMen areo Beta-Ketone Sensor strips are individually packaged in aluminum blisters, with a validity of 18 months from the date of manufacture.
Format
Glucomen Areo Sensor is sold in packs of 10 pieces.
