Mixed pasta (also called ammescata or meschiafrancesco in Neapolitan) is a product rooted in Neapolitan culture. Originally it was used in the recovery tradition, women were busy recovering small quantities of other types of shapes, because they remained for some reason, and slowly composed a new pack of pasta. Mixed pasta is especially used in the preparation of soups and goes well with potatoes, legumes, cauliflower or pumpkin.
