Montefarmaco AFOM Glycerol FU Liquid is useful as a moisturizer, antiseptic, solvent with stabilizing and preservative properties, laxative and is able to increase the osmotic pressure of the blood.

Thanks to its hygroscopicity, glycerin has the ability to hydrate the skin, which is why it becomes part of numerous preparations for cosmetic use: creams, soaps, jellies, oils. It has an antiseptic action thanks to its ability to dehydrate bacteria. It is considered an excellent solvent with stabilizing and preservative properties. Administered rectally, it has a laxative action thanks to its ability to directly irritate smooth muscles; makes the stool soft and lubricates its transit. The formulations with laxative activity, containing glycerin, are mainly suppositories, microclimates and enemas. Taken orally it is useful both as a laxative and to decrease intraocular pressure thanks to its ability to increase the osmotic pressure of the blood.
