Graviola is a small tree native to the Amazon that produces a large edible fruit. In Graviola, many bioactive compounds have been found as a result of research carried out by scientists since the 1940s. Many, of the uses in natural medicine have been confirmed by these scientific researches. The first studies date back to the period 1941-1962, some of these were done on animals conducted by different researchers and which showed that the bark and leaves have hypotensive, antispasmodic, smooth muscle relaxing and cardio depressant activities. In 1991, researchers confirmed the hypotensive properties of Graviola in rats. In 1976 in a plant testing program by the National Cancer Institute (USA), the leaves and stem of Graviola showed active cytotoxicity against cancer cells. Most of the research on Graviola has focused on a new group of compounds called annonaceous acetogenins. The powerful anticancer abilities of these compounds have been registered and patented. Graviola produces these natural compounds in the leaves, bark and branches which have been shown to have strong anticancer properties. A study at the Catholic University of South Korea has shown that a Graviola acetogenin is selectively cytotoxic in the case of colon adenocarcinoma; this study demonstrated 10,000 times the potency of adriamycin (a chemotherapy drug).

METHOD OF USE:
