Iron plays many roles in the body and is an essential element for our life. Iron is not only a functional component of hemoglobin (Hb), the protein that carries oxygen, but it is also necessary to ensure the correct functioning of many of the most important metabolic pathways, including cellular respiration, glycolysis, oxidation of fatty acids and DNA synthesis.

WHAT IS IRON DEFICIENCY?
