Gel based on cross-linked hyaluronic acid lubricating and viscous of the knee joints and other synovial joints. Non-toxic to animals.
Harzati is a viscoelastic solution for intra-articular injection, sterile, apyrogenic, resorbable, based on cross-linked hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin, produced by bacterial fermentation. Harzati comes in a colorless gel contained in a pre-filled, graduated, disposable glass syringe with Luer Lok agreement, containing 3 ml of solution.

Ingrediants

1 ml of solution contains 20 mg of cross-linked sodium hyaluronate, steril saline solution.

How to use

This product is intended for viscous supplementary therapy only and to be administered by a physician by intra-articular injection.
Harzati is injected into the joint cavity using an 18 to 21G spinal needle. Use a needle of suitable length for the joint to be treated. Intra-articular infiltration must only be performed by qualified and authorized medical personnel in compliance with the laws in force. Observe the normal precautions adopted in intra-articular injections. The product must be used with particular care in the presence of lymphatic or venous stasis of the leg to be treated. In the presence of joint effusion it is recommended to reduce the passage through aspiration, rest, application of an ice pack. In this case it is advisable to start the treatment with Harzati 2 or 3 days later.Inject the solution contained in Harzati verifying that it has the ambient temperature. To remove the syringe from the blister, hold it tightly by the body without touching the plunger shaft, unscrew the syringe cap and position the needle by screwing the needle cone clockwise onto the Luer Lok port of the syringe until resistance is felt. For a safe use of Harzati it is important to properly assemble the needle on the syringe, as incorrect assembly could cause the needle to separate from the syringe during injection (see figures 1 and 2). Be especially careful when removing the syringe tip using strictly aseptic procedures. Remove the needle cover only before injecting. Before making the injection, expel the air from the syringe until a drop of product comes out of the needle tip. Inject on perfectly intact skin, cleansed of any cosmetic residues and suitably disinfected. Inject only into the synovial space, performing the operation if necessary under instrumental guidance, e.g. fluoroscopy, especially in the case of hip and shoulder treatment. An ionic or non-ionic contrast medium can be used under fluoroscopic guidance. Local anesthetic infiltration is recommended prior to infiltration, particularly in the case of hip infiltration.

Warnings

Harzati has been packaged to be used on one patient only, once in the same session and must not be re-sterilized.
Use Harzati immediately after opening the blister and discard the syringe immediately after use, even if the entire contents have not been used.
Do not use the product beyond the expiration date shown on the package.
Since there is no clinical data on the use of hyaluronic acid in children, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, treatment with Harzati is not recommended in these cases.
Do not use on persons under the age of eighteen.
