Red Rice Food Supplement
Food supplement based on fermented rice with Monascuspurpureus, useful for maintaining normal plasma cholesterol levels, and Chromium.
Fermented red rice is obtained from the fermentation of common rice, called Oryzasativa, by various strains of a yeast called Monascus purpureus (red yeast), a microorganism that owes its name to the red color. Fermented red rice contains a group of molecules, monacolins; one of these, Monacolin K, is chemically similar to a statin (Lovastatin), a drug normally used to control cholesterolemia through inhibitory activity on the enzyme hydroxymethylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, responsible for the endogenous synthesis of cholesterol. It should be remembered that the share of endogenous cholesterol production affects plasma values for about 70-80% while the dietary contribution of cholesterol represents only 30%. Fermented red rice also contains phytosterols (beta-sitosterol and campesterol).
Monakolin K naturally contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels.
Free of gluten, wheat, soy, lactose, starch, corn, peanuts and gelatin .
Without added dyes, preservatives and artificial flavors.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
