Reishi is an inedible parasitic and saprophytic mushroom due to its bitter taste and woody texture. It grows solitary or in a few specimens from spring to autumn on broad-leaved tree stumps, especially oak and chestnut. It is counted among the ten most effective natural substances in the world, it is called in the East "Mushroom of Immortality", "Herb of Spiritual Power" or even "Mushroom of 10,000 years". There are reports of its use in China for several centuries before Christ, it is considered the best choice for a general stimulation of the organism and as an anti-aging support.
