Symptomatic treatment of herpes.

Patented medical device for the topical treatment of symptoms associated with herpes (herpes simplex labialis), such as itching, burning, tingling or sensitivity.
When used promptly, HERPOtherm® can generally prevent the blistering of herpes. In case of subsequent use it can favor a milder or faster course. The first signs of the onset of herpes, the so-called prodromal symptoms, can usually be itching, burning, tingling or sensitivity.

Mode of action

HERPOtherm® acts solely by virtue of concentrated heat and is therefore free of any chemical substance.
HERPOtherm® is therefore also suitable for pregnant women, allergy sufferers and children.
The use of concentrated heat (local hyperthermia) is a physical principle of action, based on the brief and concentrated application of a heat source on a delimited area of the skin. The application of localized heat alone may in fact be sufficient to relieve symptoms such as itching, burning, tingling or sensitivity, or generally to prevent the formation of herpes blisters, if done promptly.

How to use

• The use of HERPOtherm® is extremely simple:
• Remove the protective cap from the device. Place the device with the ceramic contact surface on the affected skin area by exerting light pressure.
• Press the appropriate button. The ceramic contact surface heats up to a temperature of approximately 51 ° C. When the temperature is reached, the LED lights up. When the LED turns off at the end of the 3 second application duration, the treatment automatically ceases. At the beginning of the heating phase and at the end of the treatment, the device emits an additional acoustic signal.
• Put the protective cap back on the device.
• In case of persistent or recurring symptoms, it is possible to treat the same skin area several times. Observe a pause of at least 2 minutes between applications. Do not exceed more than 5 applications per hour on the same skin area.

Indications for use

HERPOtherm® is only indicated for self-application by adults and adolescents from 12 years of age. Use in children under 12 is permitted only with the assistance of an adult.
To prevent transmission of the virus and for hygiene reasons, the HERPOtherm® must always be used by one person only.
Herpes is a viral disease caused by the herpes simplex virus. Transmission occurs via infectious droplets dispersed in the air, by direct contact or by contaminated objects.
There is no definitive cure for herpes simplex virus infection.

Cleaning instructions

The ceramic contact surface of the device can be easily cleaned with a commercially available disinfectant wipe containing alcohol, while a clean cloth is sufficient for cleaning all other external surfaces.

Rules for conservation

Store the device out of direct sunlight and dry.
Do not use the battery beyond the expiration date indicated on the battery. To prevent damage to the HERPOtherm® caused by the leakage of acid from the battery, it is recommended to remove the battery in case of prolonged non-use (non-use).
