- During the last half of lactation, puppies can be weaned with the same Science PlanTM Puppy product administered to the female, which simplifies the weaning process.
- Science PlanTM Puppy Healthy DevelopmentTM dry formulations are enriched with high levels of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) an essential structural component of the brain found naturally in breast milk. All Science PlanTM Puppy Healthy DevelopmentTM formulations (except the Large Breed) can be administered to pregnant and lactating bitches. This will provide puppies with high levels of DHA before weaning. When puppies are then given the right Science PlanTM Puppy product after weaning, an additional amount of DHA is provided throughout the critical period of brain and eye formation.

PUPPIES
Science PlanTM Puppy formulations should be administered from weaning to maturity, i.e. 1 year of age. The daily amount required by individual puppies typically varies by ± 16% (for example, a 4 month old puppy weighing 4 kg may require 105 to 145 grams per day of Science PlanTM Puppy Healthy DevelopmentTM ). For this reason these dosages should be adapted in order to maintain the ideal weight and administered in 2-4 meals per day (the number may decrease with age).
A 164g can corresponds to 55 grams of dry food and a 370g can to 125 grams.

PREGNANCY
The amount of Science PlanTM Puppy to be administered to pregnant bitches depends on the week of gestation. Pregnancy often does not show up until the 4th - 5th week.
FEEDING TIME
Lactating bitches should be fed Science PlanTM Puppy or Science PlanTM Puppy Healthy DevelopmentTM Mini (i.e. ad libitum) without specific restrictions until the puppies are weaned.
