Hypericum (Hypericum perforatum) is a plant belonging to the Guttifera family, quite widespread in Europe.
Its flowered tops are rich in substances, such as hypericin and hyperforin, with important biological activities.
Known in Anglo-Saxon countries as “St. John's Wort”, St. John's Wort is a perennial herbaceous plant also widespread in our countryside, where it blooms in late June.
Hypericum has been used in the past to improve states of mental fatigue and tension and its use is widely documented in traditional European medicine.
The active ingredients hypericin and hyperforin act on neurotransmitters, in particular on serotonin, noradrenaline and dopamine.

Warnings
