Eleutherococcus: the root of eleutherococcus, also called Siberian ginseng, is used in phytotherapy for its remarkable tonic and adaptogenic properties, able to improve the body's resistance to external attacks and "adapt" it to climatic and seasonal changes. Eleutherococcus stimulates the action of T lymphocytes and Natural Killer (NK) cells, thus strengthening the immune system. For this reason it is often associated with convalescence due to winter ailments and with the prevention of flu symptoms.
Uncaria: the immunostimulating action of the uncaria tomentosa is conferred by the presence of pentacyclic alkaloids, which seem to be the most important components of the phytocomplex. The uncaria is able to enhance the activity of NK cells and T lymphocytes, therefore it seems to have as an elective target both specific and non-specific cytotoxic cells, with an effect similar to that of some human interferons, capable of transforming NK cells in the most efficient LAK cells and to enhance the activity of cytotoxic T lymphocytes. For this reason it is indicated to strengthen the immune defenses against infections caused by viruses and bacteria, and in the prevention of colds of the upper airways.
Turmeric: the amount of oil present in the dried rhizome (together with the curcuminoid polyphenols, captained by curcumin) gives the drug various pharmacological properties. The best known and most proven are the choleretic-cholagogue ones, which favor the production of bile and its outflow into the intestine. Turmeric is also very useful in the treatment of dyspepsia (bad digestion), meteorism and flatulence (it also has carminative and antispasmodic properties); it has also shown anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial and antioxidant properties.
Juglans regia: Walnut is used in herbal medicine for internal use for its astringent, antibacterial and fungicidal properties. Walnut is therefore used for internal use in the treatment of hemorrhoids, diarrhea, ear infections and tracheobronchitis.
Andrografis: known as "echinacea of India", it has been used for centuries in the Ayurvedic tradition as a remedy against infectious diseases. The antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory action, as well as the ability to raise the immune defenses, depend on andrographolide, the active ingredient of the plant. Andrographolide strengthens our body's defenses by increasing the number of T lymphocytes; enhances the release of antiviral interferon by stimulating the activity of the lymphatic system which is the seat of our defense system. Andrographolide also has antiviral properties.
Echinacea purpurea: the property of echinacea derives from the ability that this plant has to activate the phagocytic action of lymphocytes and strengthen the specific immune system of adults and children: a regular intake allows you to prevent and treat the symptoms of colds , flu manifestations with fever, infections of the respiratory system (cold, cough) and urinary system (cystitis). The immunostimulating action is due both to the fat-soluble fraction (pollen, alkylamides and essential oil) and to the water-soluble fraction (polyphenolic compounds). Echinacea is also able to inhibit the replication of bacteria difficult to control, for this reason it is also recognized antibiotic, bacteriostatic and antifungal properties. The antiviral action, of the interferon-like type, such as to hinder the penetration of the virus into healthy cells, seems to be due to the chicoric acid (of which echinacea purpurea contains the highest percentage) to the caffeic acid.
Zinc: Its immune-boosting properties include regulating T lymphocytes, CD4 cells, natural killer cells and interleukin-2. Furthermore, it has been stated that Zinc possesses antiviral activity in particular against Rino viruses. At the level of the immune system, it delays the atrophy of THYME by favoring the production of T lymphocytes.
Copper: it has antiseptic and detoxifying properties, which is why it can be useful when it is necessary to strengthen the immune system.
