Instructions for use Intrasite Gel
Intrasite Gel what it is for
IntraSite Gel promotes rapid but gentle removal of necrotic tissue by absorbing fibrinous tissue and excess exudate. It can also be used to recreate a humid environment during the granulation and epithelialization phases. This makes IntraSite Gel ideal for all stages of the healing process.
IntraSite Gel is a colorless amorphous hydrogel, consisting of a polymer of modified carboxymethylcellulose, propylene glycol and water.
Advantages of using Intrasite Gel
Removes necrotic tissue.
The tissue regeneration process cannot begin unless the necrotic tissue present at the site of the lesion is removed.
IntraSite Gel promotes debridement through autolysis, gently rehydrating necrotic tissue. IntraSite Gel can be associated with enzymatic debriders such as collagenase. The association appears to have a synergistic clinical effect (1).
It cleanses
During the inflammatory phase of the healing process, there is the formation of serous necrotic tissue due to the accumulation of dead cells in the wound exudate. IntraSite Gel absorbs excess exudate from the wound surface, blocks the accumulation of debris and prevents the formation of sloughs. However, in the case of slough already present, the particularly effective rehydrating action of the gel allows a delicate and
effective removal without damaging healthy tissue. During this stage, how often the dressing needs to be replaced depends on the amount of exudate present.
Daily replacement is recommended to maximize the cleansing action.
Promotes moist healing.
IntraSite Gel allows to create a moist environment at the level of the wound surface, preventing the formation of eschars.
By keeping the fragile granulation tissue moist and allowing the migration of epithelial cells, IntraSite Gel promotes fast and safe healing without complications.
Easy to apply
The exclusive Applipack dispenser offers the possibility of a simple, directional and controllable application even in hard to reach sites.
IntraSite Gel is non-adherent and can be easily removed from the wound with a simple washing with physiological solution, without damaging the particularly fragile tissue or causing unnecessary pain to the patient.
Choice of dressing for Intrasite Gel
IntraSite Gel should be used in conjunction with a secondary dressing.
The conditions of the lesion determine the choice of the type of dressing and its frequency of replacement:
Necrotic: Semi-permeable dressing, such as OPSITE ™ FLEXIGRID ™
Daily change
