Inulin from chicory root has beneficial effects on the composition of the bacterial flora, causing a selective increase in friendly bacteria.

Inulin has been shown to increase the amount of lactobacilli and bifidobacteria in the intestine. This produces beneficial effects in case of diarrhea and a general improvement in the health of the gastrointestinal tract and represents a support for the immune system.

This fiber can be used for the preparation of foods and drinks as a substitute for sugar, as it has a reduced sweetening power (10% compared to that of sucrose), inhibiting the increase in blood glucose.

Studies conducted on inulin, in fact, indicate the ability of this compound to promote correct intestinal function, increasing the frequency of evacuation to a dosage of 12 g per day.
