Iron Folic

Capsules

For all nutritional needs of supplementation of iron, folate and Vitamin B, in case of increased need and for pregnant women

Iron is present in all living organisms and in humans it is present in molecules that perform very important biological functions. It intervenes in important metabolic processes such as the transport of oxygen to the tissues, the synthesis of DNA, the synthesis of neurotransmitters, therefore a good supply of iron improves the immune response, physical endurance, resistance to stress and cognitive abilities. Iron deficiency can have both physiological causes (menstrual losses, pregnancy, breastfeeding, vegetarian diet, elderly people) and pathological causes (inadequate absorption, inflammatory processes in the intestine, hormonal disorders, iron transport defects, trauma).

Iron is always found bound to other molecules as its free ionic form has a high reactivity leading to the formation of very toxic free radicals. Traditional iron supplementation therapy does not allow optimal absorption and bioavailability as well as having annoying adverse reactions due to the high dosage required and its high reactivity. Thanks to the Liposomal technology, the iron, in addition to never being in direct contact with the intestinal mucosa or other organs, eliminating adverse reactions, is transported directly into the blood and to the sites of use, allowing a lower dosage and improving absorption and bioavailability.

Folic acid is involved in the synthesis and methylation of DNA and in the metabolism of some amino acids. In fact it is necessary for the conversion of homocysteine into methionine or cystathionine (intermediate in the biosynthesis of cysteine), therefore, at the same time, it ensures low homocysteine values through reactions involving vitamins B6 and B12. High levels of homocysteine, as also indicated by the directives of the Ministry of Health, are correlated with high cardiovascular risk. Furthermore, a good supply of folic acid in pregnant women prevents the increase in plasma homocysteine concentration as well as preventing congenital defects, slowing of growth and abnormal learning ability in the fetus.
