Tissue relaxation is a manifestation of skin aging that affects different age groups, and is caused by loss of firmness.

As a consequence of the natural slowdown of cellular activity, of the malfunctioning of the blood circulation at the capillary level and in the subcutaneous layer, of drastic diets or other factors, the skin loses its turgor and is no longer able to effectively support the underlying tissues .

Skin cells, like the rest of our body, are subject to a life cycle that continually leads to the replacement of older cells with new ones. As we age, both the speed and quality of this replacement decreases, thus leading to the formation of thinner and more fragile skin. At the age of 20, the skin renews itself about every three weeks, while at the age of 50, about every nine. At the molecular level there is a decrease in the production of collagen and elastin already after the age of twenty-five, thus starting the aging process with the formation of wrinkles and loss of elasticity.

SOLUTION

GATULINE INTENSE : is an oily extract concentrated from the apical part of Acmella Spilanthes, (Asteraceae family), also called Paracress. It is rich in alkylamides, known in traditional medicine for their marked analgesic and immuno-stimulating activity. Studies in the face and in vitro have demonstrated the ability of GATULINE INTENSE to increase cellular dynamism, which is reduced over time and consequently reorganize and strengthen collagen fibers.

OXIGENSKIN : natural substance rich in arabinogalactans from nasturtium, restores the ability of cells to respond to hypoxic stress and contributes to the intracellular diffusion of oxygen. This double mechanism facilitates oxygenation of the skin and gives a smooth skin surface and greater radiance of the complexion. OXYGESKIN illuminates dull skin.

BABASSU BUTTER : obtained from the fruit of the Babassu palm, it is a butter with a triglycerine structure, which in addition to fatty acids (lauric, oleic, palmitic acids, just to name a few) contains an unsaponifiable fraction rich in sterols and tocopherols. Babassu oil and butter are used in cosmetics for their emollient, lubricating and superfatting properties. They restore the deficient skin lipid layer, keeping the skin soft and smooth, while protecting it at the same time.

SHEA BUTTER : Shea butter is obtained from the seeds of a tree that the natives often called the tree "of health and youth". Its botanical name is Butyrospermum Parkii, and it is a majestic tree that somewhat resembles our oaks in appearance. An important part, for the therapeutic and cosmetic function of Shea, is the unsaponifiables, a part foreign to fat, so called because in contact with soda it does not react to become soap, as it happens with fats. In butter we find vitamins A, D and E. Shea butter is indicated as a sunscreen, as a soothing and preventative of skin aging.

ARGAN BUTTER : ARGAN or ARGANIA (Argania spinosa) is a tree that grows in MOROCCO, in the south-western areas, in the SOUSS plain. It is a hardy plant that lives up to 200 years and has adapted to the arid climate of Morocco. UNESCO classified it in 1998 as a World Heritage Site. ARGAN butter is rich in linoleic acid, vitamins E and A, precious allies against skin aging. It also has healing properties and protects the skin from external aggressions by neutralizing free radicals.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

A perfect facial contour, a firm body and reduced wrinkles are all signs of youth that people want to maintain or restore. With age, the skin loses elasticity and firmness. Cell turnover slows down, collagen production decreases. Most importantly, the supporting tissue is disorganized, leading to relaxed skin and the appearance of deeper and deeper wrinkles. Today Gattefossé focuses on cellular dynamism to strengthen the architecture of the dermis and fight the signs of aging. A new concentrated firming and smoothing active ingredient GATULINE IN-TENSE acts on the natural lifting properties of the skin. By stimulating the biomechanical functions of fibroblasts, GATULINE IN-TENSE will reorganize the architecture of the dermis. The density and firmness of the skin are then rapidly improved, leading to a reduction in skin roughness.

GATULINE ~ IN-TENSE is a concentrated oily extract from the top of the Acylella plant of Spilanthes (Asteraceae family), also called Paracress. This plant, which grows mainly in subtropics, is widespread and prized for its flavor enhancing properties. Its French name, "brede mafane", a cross between French and Madagascan Creole, means "hot grass". This name comes directly from its use as a condiment. Gattefossé collects the Paracress flower buds used for GATULINE® IN-TENSE in South Africa. This origin was specifically selected for the high content of active ingredients in its crops. Its main components are alkylamides, known in traditional medicine for their analgesic and immunostimulating effects. These amides have been shown to be excellent reproducibility and activity markers of GATULINE® IN-TENSE. They are guaranteed with a minimum content of 0.5%.

PERFORMANCE OF THE SKIN The Extra Cellular Matrix (ECM), the supporting tissue for the skin, plays an important structural role on the architecture of the skin. The ECM can simply be described as a "dermal gel" consisting of water, glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and proteoglycans, in which fibroblasts and protein fibers, mainly collagen and elastin, bathe. Fibroblasts, key cells in the dermis, permanently interact with collagen fibers to create a true three-dimensional network. Through their mobility and contractile properties, fibroblasts organize this support network by pulling collagen fibers. This cellular dynamism reorganizes and tightens this skin network, firming the skin.

With age, all components of the ECM are reduced. Cell dynamism, like all interactions between cells and supporting fibers, is reduced. The result is a disorganization of the collagen network. The skin loses its mechanical properties and reveals the signs of aging. GATULINE IN-TENSE has shown powerful actions to enhance cellular dynamism and thus reorganize and strengthen this network of collagen fibers.

IN VITRO EFFICACY Collagen lattices The strengthening and firming activity was tested on a living artificial dermis model. These lattices are composed of human fibroblasts interconnected in a network of collagen fibers such as within the skin. The effect of GATULIN E ~ IN-TENSE on the dynamic properties of fibroblasts is evaluated by measuring the contraction surface of the lattices. The TGFß cytokine known for its stimulating power on human fibroblasts was used as a positive control.

This stimulation, obtained after the direct addition of the active ingredient in the culture, indicates that GATULINE IN-TENSE acts on the cell / fiber collagen interactions. These interactions guarantee better cohesion and therefore well-structured dermal architecture. The firming and firming effect observed during a clinical study on 28 volunteers was therefore confirmed. CLINICAL STUDY The in vivo wrinkle smoothing activity of GATULINE IN-TENSE has been demonstrated on crow's feet in women 45 to 65 years of age. The tests were conducted on two groups of 28 volunteers each, with question twice daily for 28 days. The first group applied a placebo and the other group tested a formulation containing 2% GATULIN INTENSE.
