Acetylcysteine
It is the acetylated derivative of the amino acid Cysteine. Acetylcysteine can be used as an adjuvant in the treatment of respiratory diseases such as acute bronchitis and chronic bronchitis, associated with the excessive production of mucus or the production of viscous mucus. The mucolytic activity of acetylcysteine is due to the breaking of the disulfide bridges typical of mucoproteins; this causes a decrease in the viscosity of the bronchial mucus so as to facilitate expectoration.
Mauve
The flowers and in particular the leaves of the Mallow are rich in mucilages, which give the plant emollient properties for all the soft tissues of the body. These active ingredients work by coating the mucous membranes with a viscous layer that protects them from irritating agents. For this reason, the use of Mallow is indicated against cough and in catarrhal forms of the upper airways.
