Kelo-Cote gel what it is for

Kelo-Cote Gel is a transparent, self-drying silicone gel for the treatment of scars. Kelo-Cote Gel dries quickly forming a flexible and waterproof film that creates a protective barrier against chemical, physical and microbial agents and at the same time contributes to the hydration of the skin.

How Kelo-Cote Gel works

This gel creates an environment that promotes scar maturation by normalizing collagen synthesis and improving the aesthetic appearance of the scar.
Kelo-Cote Gel reduces, softens and smoothes scars, relieves itching, discomfort and pain associated with scars and reduces discoloration.
Silicone gels have been shown to be effective in treating abnormal scarring in the form of hypertrophic and keloid scars. The 2014 International Clinical Guidelines for Scar Management recommend the use of silicones as an elective first-line therapy in the treatment of linear hypertrophic scars and minor keloids as well as in the prevention of hypertrophic scars.
Intended use: Kelo-Cote Gel is indicated for the treatment and prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scars resulting from trauma, accidental wounds, surgery and burns. Kelo-Cote Gel is suitable for the face and body. Kelo-Cote Gel can be used on joints, creases and hair areas and extensive scars such as those caused by burns or major trauma. Kelo-Cote Gel is suitable for use in babies over 3 months of age and people with sensitive skin.

How to use Kelo-Cote Gel

Make sure the affected area is clean and dry. If using the 60g tube, remove the cap and foil protection before use. For 6g and 15g tubes, cut the applicator tip with clean scissors before application. Apply Kelo-Cote Gel to the area using a clean finger twice a day in a very thin layer and allow to dry. For maximum effect, Kelo-Cote Gel must remain in contact with the skin for 24 hours. Once dried, products with sunscreen or cosmetics can be applied to the affected area. Put the cap back on after use.
If Kelo-Cote Gel has not dried within 4-5 minutes, then too much has probably been used. Gently remove excess and allow the drying process to continue. The minimum recommended treatment time is 60-90 days. Larger and older scars may take longer and if scar improvement is visible, it is recommended to prolong the use of the product after the first 90 days of application.

Components contained in Kelo-Cote Gel
