Serplus

Dietary supplement

Description

Serplus INTEGRATES DIET when the intestine, worn out by stress, drugs and food additives, is unable to obtain from the diet all the tryptophan necessary for the synthesis of serotonin.

Serplus is a natural nutraceutical whose active ingredient is alpha-lactalbumin. Serplus is a patented food supplement, registered with the Ministry of Health in 2007 (reg. 07 19056-Y).

The bioavailability of alpha-lactalbumin is maximum: all the dose taken orally is rapidly broken down to peptides, which are completely absorbed by the gastrointestinal system. A peculiar characteristic of this protein is its high content of tryptophan, the only precursor of serotonin. Alpha-lactalbumin is the whey protein most present in milk, especially in human milk. In fact, in our colostrum it even represents 40% of the proteins.

Alpha-lactalbumin is the protein that Nature has chosen for man. Its actions in the intestine are essential for the brain development of the newborn. In fact, brain development depends on the availability of brain serotonin. A very recent study on animals [1] shows that repeated daily oral intakes of alpha-lactalbumin are able to increase the brain synthesis of serotonin; acting, therefore, in an absolutely natural way and without any side effect, as nature has arranged.

Many neurological symptoms are due to brain serotonin deficiency. The best known is depression, in which the serotonin deficiency was hypothesized as early as 1965, by measuring the urinary levels of its catabolites. Since 1970 the drug therapy of depression has been based on the enhancement of brain serotonin. Brain serotonin deficiency has been reported to worsen aggression, nervousness, fatigue, mood depression, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, chronic pain.
