Konjiac Shirataki

Low in calories (only 10 kcal per 100 g), carbohydrate-free, gluten-free, rich in soluble fiber, konjac shirataki can be considered a reductive food. Konjac, known for thousands of years in Asian countries, is the root of a plant, Amorphophallus konjac. This root, which looks like a large beet, contains a treasure rich in soluble fibers: glucomannan, a vegetable fiber capable of absorbing up to one hundred times its weight in water, thanks to its viscosity, giving rise to a soft gelatinous mass. This causes an immediate satiety effect. If consumed regularly (4 g of glucomannan / day), glucomannan helps stabilize cholesterol *.
