Legapas Vital Named Food Supplement
Legapas Vital is a specific food supplement for the treatment of liver and gallbladder pains. Indicated as drainage of the gravel from the biliary tract and constipation especially of hepato-biliary origin. It stimulates intestinal peristalsis, acting as a laxative and also increasing the secretions of the upper and middle intestinal tract. It is indicated for liver problems accompanied by abdominal discomfort, a sense of fullness, a sense of heaviness, flatulence and loss of appetite. The elements that compose it are:
- Cascara Extract, which acts as a laxative and choleretic;
- the Dandelion which favors the regularity of intestinal transit, also helps the purifying functions;
- the Extracts of Carduus Marianus and Taraxacum, with purifying, cell regenerative, choleretic and spasmolytic properties, which support the effect of the Cascara extract.
Method of use and dosage
It is recommended to take 30 to 50 drops in the morning or in the evening, dissolved in a little warm water. Dosage should be adjusted according to individual response.
Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of the reach of children under 3 years of age. Food supplements are not intended as a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Prolonged use could worsen intestinal constipation. Do not take the product for more than two weeks, unless otherwise prescribed. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 30 mg of hydroxyanthracenic derivatives (50 drops). Do not take the remedy in case of acute inflammatory affections of the intestine (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, appendicitis), abdominal pain of unknown origin; pregnancy, lactation and children under the age of 12.
Contraindications and side effects
In case of chronic use or abuse, loss of electrolytes, especially potassium, can occur; albuminuria and hematuria; pigmentation of the intestinal mucosa which, however, is harmless and regresses once the intake is stopped. Loss of potassium can lead to impaired cardiac function and myasthenia, particularly if cardioactive glycosides, diuretics and corticosteroids are taken at the same time.
