Ligasano
Ligasano is a single-layer polyurethane dressing with a honeycomb structure, differentiated porosity and a single surface graininess.
Unlike common polyurethane foams normally used as secondary dressings to absorb and manage exudate, Ligasano is primarily indicated as a primary dressing for wound bed debridement and drainage, especially in chronic and infected wounds.
Its effectiveness in debridement and drainage is second only to advanced surgical techniques (e.g. ultrasound, surgery) and negative pressure wound therapy. However, compared to these techniques, its biomechanical activity is neither expensive nor dependent on the operator.
Thanks to its particular structure and its functional properties, Ligasano is a unique dressing that ensures an extremely effective and selective debridement, even in the case of tunnels and fistulas, and is at the same time extremely versatile and economical.
How does it work
Ligasano exerts a biomechanical cleaning action on the wound bed, which can be divided into two consecutive phases:
Phase 1 - The granular surface of Ligasano adheres to the necrotic tissue. The natural movements of the patient (walking, breathing, heartbeat, etc.) affect the walls of the cells with an alveolar structure, generating a slight friction with the walls of the wound and the bed. Unhealthy tissues are then selectively debrided, while this is not the case in underlying and developed healthy tissues.
Phase 2 - The alveolar structures respond to specific physical laws. When a slight pressure is exerted, the cells with a honeycomb structure behave like small vacuum pumps, conveying liquids in the opposite direction. That is why it is necessary to lightly compress Ligasano on the wound bed. The dressing tends to shrink, literally forcing debrided spurious tissue and exudate to flow from the wound. Fast, safe and selective… It just… it works!
GREEN LIGASANO:
STRUCTURE
Low-density open cell alveolar macrostructure with surface macro-granularity.
PROPERTY
High volume drainage, remarkable capacity for mechanical "hard debridement", significant stimulation of the proliferative phase, negligible absorption and thermohygrometric functionality.
INDICATIONS
Primary dressing indicated for “hard debridement” of chronic and / or infected wounds, debridement of rooted fibrinous sediments, sloughs and necrotic tissues. Drainage and cleaning of highly suppurative lesions, even in the presence of high density exudate. To be used in contact with necrotic and spurious tissues and fibrinous sediments. Avoid contact with delicate tissues (tendons, bones, primary blood vessels, intestinal loops) and healthy periwound skin.
WHITE LIGASANO:
STRUCTURE
High-density alveolar structure, with mixed cells (open and closed) and surface micro-granules.
PROPERTY
Strong drainage, high permeability, good capacity for mechanical debridement ("soft debridement") and stimulation of tissue granulation. Absorption capacity up to 88% of its volume and maintenance of thermohygrometric balance.
INDICATIONS
Primary dressing for "soft debridement" (biofilm, slough, fibrinous sediments) of chronic and / or infected wounds. Drainage of lesions with moderate suppuration with low density exudate. It can be used in contact with delicate tissues and healthy and periwound skin. Secondary dressing specifically indicated for infected wounds where a highly permeable dressing is required to control the bacterial load, compared to other situations where the priority is represented by the management of a high volume of exudate in conditions of low bacterial load.
The Ligasano method
Correct and effective dressing in six simple steps
The functionality and versatility of Ligasano are also reflected in its method of application. Thanks to its unique properties, Ligasano is applied with a very simple procedure, although different from the traditional methods used with common polyurethane foams.
RANGE OF PRODUCTS
Product range - Ligasano is available in different shapes and sizes depending on the specific needs of each wound.
VERSATILITY
Ligasano can be cut, shaped and superimposed to perfectly adapt to any lesion or anatomical morphology. Ligasano is deliberately produced without an adhesive film to ensure total versatility and is, at the same time, practically hypoallergenic.
Cost-effectiveness - Ligasano represents a cutting-edge solution in terms of cost reduction. Since it is a single layer of material used for mechanical purposes, any clean remnant of dressing can be reused to complement other dressings and, where necessary, can be re-sterilized for later use. In fact, Ligasano can be sterilized several times (in an autoclave at 121 or 134 ° C) without its structure being altered.
