LIGASANO white is a sponge in polyurethane foam with a therapeutic action characterized by a wide range of applications in the field of wound care and prevention. Use must always be followed by a doctor or paramedical staff.
The therapeutic effect is basically based on 3 physical principles:

Mechanical stimulus

It acts locally on the wound and in contact with the skin, stimulating vascularization, thus ensuring a better flow of oxygen and nutrients to the injured area (activation of the wound), while in the case of intact skin it carries out a preventive action. Particularly in bedridden or wheelchair-bound patients, the normal bodily functions, specifically reduced, are stimulated locally. The mechanical stimulus lasts up to 3 days, after this period it is necessary to change the white LIGASANO®.

Reduced compressive loads

The product adapts to the profiles without strong compressive loads being exerted, which ensures uniform and reduced compression on the wound and body.

Targeted absorption action

Excess liquid is absorbed so the wound dries without drying. The wounded area is kept in humid heat conditions, with reduction of bacterial flora, cleaning action, without the danger of the tissue sticking to the wound. Prevention of skin maceration, curative action on the skin.

The risk of the appearance of wounds due to insufficient vascularization can be considerably reduced with the application of white LIGASANO®. Any slowdowns in the wound healing process due to insufficient vascularity are reduced or nullified, infected wounds are cleaned, most of the time without the need for further action. The processes of granulation and epitheliation are stimulated, the desired results most often occur surprisingly quickly and noticeably. LIGASANO® white is not an implant and therefore must not be left permanently on wounds. At the latest after 3 days of contact with the wound, the LIGASANO white liner and / or dressing must be replaced.
