Ligasano Bianco is characterized by a wide range of applications in the field of wound care and prevention, with a proven positive effect compared to:

- Chronic wounds: reduction of bacteria, cleaning of wounds, therapeutic effect.

- Post-operative wounds: reduced risk of the onset of new bacteria, stimulation of the healing process.

- Extensive burns: cleaning of the wound and absorption of the secretion.

- Decubitus prophylaxis: reduced compression and local vascularization, skin care.

- Arterial circulation dysfunctions: in the legs, vascular stimulation, prevention from arterial Ulcus Cruris.

- Fungal infections, inflammations due to skin contact: preventive, therapeutic effect eg. between the toes and hands, under the armpits and between abdominal folds in case of contractures.

The therapeutic effect is basically based on three physical principles:

- Mechanical stimulus: Acts locally on the wound and in contact with the skin, stimulating vascularization, thus ensuring a better flow of oxygen and nutrients to the injured area, while in the case of intact skin it carries out a preventive action. The mechanical stimulus lasts up to 3 days, after this period it is necessary to change Ligasano Bianco.

- Reduced compressive loads: The product adapts to the profiles without strong compressive loads being exerted, which ensures uniform and reduced compression on the wound and body.

- Targeted absorption action: Excess liquid is absorbed so the wound dries without drying. The wounded area is kept in conditions of humid heat, with reduction of bacterial flora, cleaning action, without the danger of the tissue sticking to the wound. The risk of the appearance of wounds due to insufficient vascularization can be considerably reduced with the application of Ligasano Bianco. Any slowdowns in the wound healing process due to insufficient vascularity are reduced or canceled, infected wounds are cleaned, most of the time without the need for further action. The processes of granulation and epitheliation are stimulated, the desired results most often occur in a surprisingly rapid and evident way.

WOUND TREATMENT - BASIC PRINCIPLES: Ligasano Bianco is a disposable product and in most cases it is applied directly to the wound without the need to take other measures or preparations. The use must always be followed by a doctor or paramedics. The wounds at the skin level are treated with a 1-2cm thick layer while the peripheral areas with overlapping layers of 1-2cm. The deeper wounds are completely padded with Ligasano Bianco. There must be generally good contact with the wound. To ensure this it can be compressed up to 50%. Ligasano bianco must be applied overall for a thickness of 2cm. Thickness can also be achieved by overlapping more layers. Ligasano is applied by going beyond the edges of the lesion by 3-4cm. It must be ensured that total contact of Ligasano with the wound is guaranteed, even in the deepest points (e.g. the ulcer is filled with Ligasano and then covered with an additional layer) and that it can adapt to any irregularities in the wound. Bandage change interval: From 1 time per day to 1 time every 2 days, at the latest however when the first secretion point is visible on the external side of Ligasano. In case of particularly wet wounds it is possible to change the bandage several times a day.

PREVENTION: Ligasano Bianco can be easily cut and shaped by creating specific support bases for individual cases (rollers, wedges, bases for heels). With an appropriate thickness it does not give rise to folds, thus effectively avoiding the risk of formation of bedsores. The patient's skin is always in direct contact with Ligasano Bianco without intermediate layers. The preventive and therapeutic action of infections and / or inflammations is given by the application of an intermediate layer of 1-2cm of Ligasano Bianco (e.g. between the toes, hands, between the abdominal folds, under the breast, under the armpits).

SIDE EFFECTS: With the correct use there are no known unwanted side effects, incompatibilities or interactions with other drugs. Typical and desired phenomena are redness of the skin, an initial itch, more marked wound reactions, return of sensitivity as a consequence of stimulation of the vascularization.
