Marco Viti Linseed Seeds - Food Supplement
War on constipation with flax seeds. Yes, the simple "grandmother's remedy" (eating a tablespoon of flaxseed accompanied by a couple of glasses of water) works and seems to solve constipation problems. In fact, in contact with water in the stomach, flax seeds form a sort of mucilage that softens the stool and increases its volume. An increase that stimulates peristalsis, that is, the expulsion of faeces from the intestine.
Use
Alongside a diet rich in fiber and constant physical activity, these red brown seeds, 4-5 mm long, assist in defecation. Two recipes. The first involves taking 4 or 5 teaspoons of seeds, breaking them up, leaving them to soak for twenty minutes, then filtering the drink and drinking. The second option, indicated for those who are on a diet (the seeds have a large caloric intake, 470 calories per hundred grams) involves the ingestion of a couple of tablespoons of seeds and, subsequently, a glass or two of water. . The seeds will pass through the intestine, increasing in volume and releasing the emollient substances, but they will still come out whole. Thus the fats they are rich in will not be absorbed by the intestine.
Being, more than a laxative, an emollient, a sort of facilitator for the passage of feces, it can be used frequently. It also helps to disinfect irritated mucous membranes, perhaps from the use of too many laxatives.
Warnings
Flax seeds have no interactions with other drugs. The main side effect is possible flatulence. However, experts advise not to use them on children under the age of six and when suffering from intestinal obstruction and narrowing of the esophagus.
