Liquid Paraffin (Vaseline Oil) FU Marco Viti - Laxative

Liquid paraffin is a vaseline oil with a laxative function. It has the appearance of a clear, colorless, odorless and oily liquid. Used as a laxative, it acts as a lubricant of the stool making it soft in consistency.

Use

It is advisable to initially use the minimum doses provided and then increase the dosage as needed, the dose can be increased, but without ever exceeding the maximum indicated.

For adults, the recommended dosage is from 5 to 30 ml. For children older than 3 years, however, the recommended dosage is from 5 to 20 ml.

It is advisable to preferably take laxative liquid paraffin after the evening meal, so that the effect of the laxative does not disturb sleep. The laxative effect will be obtained after 6-8 hours from taking, so if taken in the evening before sleeping, you will have the desired effects the next morning as soon as you wake up.

Warnings

Attention, it is important not to take it immediately before going to bed. The advice is to leave at least an hour after taking the medicine before going to bed.

Do not take together with other medicines by mouth: it is advisable to take the laxative at least two hours apart.

Laxatives should be used as infrequently as possible and for no more than seven days. Use for longer periods of time requires a doctor's prescription after adequate evaluation of the individual case.

Ingest together with an adequate quantity of water (a large glass). A diet rich in liquids also promotes the effect of the medicine.

Do not swallow the medicine on an empty stomach but take the medicine after a meal.
