Based on Lactoferrin. Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein with an antimicrobial and iron-carrying action. Discovered in 1939 in cow's milk, its usefulness has recently been re-evaluated due to its antioxidant, immunomodulatory and anti-infective properties. The antiviral effect of lactoferrin is related to its ability to bind to the glycosaminoglycans of the plasma membrane of cells, preventing the entry of the virus and stopping the infection in the bud.
