Potassium and Magnesium Citrate in Retard tablets

LITHOS is a food supplement based on potassium and magnesium citrate.

LITHOS, is of particular help in subjects subjected to intense loss of fluids, such as in case of strong sweating, excessive diuresis or diarrhea, or in patients receiving drugs such as diuretics, laxatives and cortisone

LITHOS also has a peculiarity that distinguishes it from all other mineral supplements: its alkaline nature.
In fact, being based on citrate, an alkaline salt, it is also useful to supplement a diet low in alkaline values (fruit and vegetables) or to compensate for a diet with a high intake of proteins or fats that would cause an excessive acid load for the body.
This condition would facilitate, with its prolongation, the onset of some pathologies, such as osteoporosis and kidney stones, which often manifest themselves with a scarce presence of citrates in the urine.
In fact, it should be remembered that the citrate present in the urine represents one of the most important defenses against the formation of urinary stones.

From these considerations, it is the faculty of the treating physician to use LITHOS also to integrate deficient urinary levels of citrate and magnesium, as in calcic kidney stones, or to correct states of urinary hyperacidity, as in uratic stones, in accordance with what is indicated by international literature.

How to use:
We recommend taking two tablets a day, unless otherwise indicated by the doctor.
LITHOS should preferably be taken on a full stomach, taking the tablet with a little water.

Packaging:
Bottle containing 100 Retard tablets of potassium and magnesium citrate of 1280 mg.
Each 1280 mg tablet. of LITHOS contains 7 mEq of Potassium (274 mg) and 3.5 mEq of Magnesium (43 mg) and 10.5 mEq of citrate, in a formulation that guarantees its prolonged release. This allows to obtain, and maintain, constant levels of plasma potassium and magnesium and urinary citrate.
