Wide Spectrum Disinfectant

Indications:
broad spectrum disinfectant for disinfection and hygiene of the skin in infectious risk wards.
Antiseptic-antibacterial to be used in the following cases:

• preparation of the operating field;
• disinfection of the skin before injection therapy;
• use as an antiseptic-microbicide in medical clinics.

How to use:
it is used pure or diluted up to 50%. It is applied directly to the affected area with a cotton ball or with a gauze pad.


Characteristics:
the spectrum of action is very broad and includes Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, acid and acid-fast bacteria, fungi (including Candida), protozoa, viruses and spores.
Its activity is maintained in the presence of organic materials. No resistance phenomena are known.
PVP-I contains 10% of free available iodine which is gradually released from the complex upon contact with the substrate. The antisepsis is expressed by free iodine with a direct and persistent oxidizing action.
Clear solution of dark color, foaming by stirring. Characteristic odor of iodine; pH 4.5 ± 0.5, soluble in water in all ratios. Specific weight: 1.00-1.05.
Medical-Surgical Unit.
The product is well tolerated locally even after treatments for several days.

Format :
Available in polyethylene bottles of 125, 250, 500, 1000, 5000 ml.


Toxicity:
tests on healthy skin: patch tests do not cause any reaction after 96 hours of contact; the tests repeated after only 2 weeks did not reveal any phenomena of intolerability even after a further 48 hours of contact.
Absence of systemic effects, this demonstrates that the product is devoid of systemic action and therefore has an exclusive local action.


Contraindications:
allergy to iodine.


Warnings:
for external use only, do not ingest.
Keep out of reach of children.
Not to be used on damaged skin and mucous membranes.
Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water.
Do not use at the same time as soaps or solutions / ointments containing mercury.
In case of accident or if you feel unwell, consult your doctor (show him the label if possible).
Do not dispose of the container in the environment after use.
Store the product in its original packaging in a cool, clean and dry place, away from high heat sources and not exposed to direct sunlight.
Keep the container tightly closed and away from food, feed and drink. Do not reuse the container.
The period of validity (36 months) refers to the product in its intact and correctly stored container.
Dispose of in accordance with local wastewater regulations.


Components:
100 ml of solution contain:
10.0 g polyvinylpyrrolidone iodine (equivalent to 1.0% iodine); co-formulated; purified water to taste at 100ml.
