The lip balm can be applied as often as desired and can also be used under the lipstick. Tea Tree Oil, Vitamin E and Shea Butter help prevent lip chapping. By appeasing redness, they promote the regenerative process of the epidermis. Australian Tea Tree Lip Balm does not contain alcohol, parabens and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate.

Gradually, scientific research has documented the beneficial effects of the Tea Tree plant (Melaleuca alternifolia) and, in particular, the bactericidal, germicidal and antimocotic properties of the essential oil (Tea Tree oil), which today is used as a "medicine" for wounds, cuts, redness, insect bites, impurities, infections and many skin disorders.

The Australian Government has established by law that, to be classified as Tea Tree oil, Melaleuca alternifolia oil must contain over 30% of terpineol (antiseptic and antiviral) and less than 15% of cineol (also known as eucalyptol, antiseptic vegetable which at high concentrations could cause irritation).

It is certified that the BIO Melaleuca essential oil used by Optima contains no less than 38% of terpineol and no more than 5% of cineole.

All the products of the Australian Tea Tree Line have been formulated avoiding the use of parabens, some preservatives and SLS and SLES detergents, which, although present in other cosmetics, are considered to cause skin irritation.

Furthermore, the products of the Line do not contain synthetic fragrances or zinc.
