FOLIC ACID :

Folic Acid or Vitamin B9 is essential for DNA synthesis to develop and defend the structure of the skull, brain, spine and spinal cord. The lack of folic acid, unfortunately, could generate serious malformations such as anencephaly, cephalocele or spina bifida.

FOLIC ACID "IS NOT PRODUCED BY OUR BODY" but must be taken with the vitamin or with the specific food.
