What is Medigel for

Medigel is indicated in infants, children, adults. As an anti- regurgitation : in milky regimes. As a thickener / gelling agent : of liquid or semi-liquid foods in case of swallowing problems (dysphagia); in patients with reflux problems.

Dosage and method of use of Medigel

According to the doctor's instructions, taking into account the age, body weight and clinical conditions of the subject, the product can be used as an anti-regurgitation or as a thickener:

As an anti-regurgitation :

• pour 3 g (1 measuring spoon) of product into water (100 ml) and heat over low heat until a gel is obtained, which can be kept in the fridge for 24 hours;
• in case of breastfeeding, the gel should be given to the infant before feeding (1-2 teaspoons depending on the needs);
• in case of non-breastfeeding, take the necessary quantity and dissolve in infant formula, shaking the bottle.

As a thickener :

• use the 3 g measuring cup contained in the package to take the quantity suggested in the table (page 133);
• slowly add to both hot and cold liquid or semi-liquid foods;
• mix with a fork or a whisk until completely dissolved or shake in a closed container (such as shaker). Alternatively, use a low speed electric mixer for 5-10 seconds.

Proper storage of Medigel

It is recommended to store in a cool and dry place away from light and direct heat sources. The reconstituted product can be kept in the fridge and used within 24 hours.

Important warnings for Medigel

Medigel must be used under medical supervision. Medigel cannot be used as the sole source of nutrition. Keep out of reach of children. GLUTEN FREE.
