Compression therapy is an important part of venous leg ulcer treatment. Therapy compliant with the guidelines provides, after the initial phase of decongestion of venous edema, the use of anti-ulcer stocking systems. The mediven ulcer kit sock system exerts continuous and effective compression 24 hours a day and is easy to put on thanks to its two components. (1)

The white mediven ulcer inner sock helps keep wound dressings in place. It exerts a pressure of 20 mmHg and can therefore be worn for up to 24 hours a day, providing an effective therapeutic treatment even during the night. (2, 3) Its soft material with antibacterial effect ensures a pleasant and comfortable fit and improves wearability. of the outer sock, which can be slipped on simply by sliding on the one below.

During the day, during the movement phases, it is possible to wear the mediven ulcer plus external sock in addition to increase compression . Since this second sock also exerts a compression of 20 mmHg, the mediven ulcer kit provides the total pressure of 40 mmHg necessary for therapeutic purposes. THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS

Therapy for venous ulcers (CEAP classification C6).
Therapy for mixed ulcers (caused by arterial and venous disorders), taking into account contraindications.
Prevention of the recurrence of venous ulcers (CEAP classification C5).

CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Advanced peripheral occlusive arterial disease (in the presence of one of the following parameters: ABPI <0.5, arterial pressure at the ankle <60 mmHg, pressure at the toe <30 mmHg or TcPO2 <20 mmHg at the back of the foot)
• Decompensated heart failure (NYHA III + IV)
• Septic phlebitis
• Phlegmasia cerulea dolens

Pay special attention to

• Severe weeping dermatosis.
• Intolerance to compression materials.
• Severe paresthesia of the limbs.
• Advanced peripheral neuropathy (found e.g. in diabetes mellitus).
• Primary chronic polyarthritis.
