- Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
- Selenium contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and to normal thyroid function.
Original formula born from the scientific observations gained during fifty years of research and clinical studies conducted by Prof. Walter Pierpaoli and his collaborators, on Melatonin and on the Pineal gland, and on their close relationship with the mechanisms of aging.
Pierpaoli Melatonin Zinc Selenium was developed with the aim of obtaining a peak release of Melatonin during the night and was formulated to meet the needs of the body's physiological functions.
Formulation developed on the basis of clinical studies.
Composition
Melatonin, Zinc gluconate, Selenium and Mannitol.
How to use
We recommend taking 1 tablet of Melatonin Zinc Selenium Pierpaoli® in the evening half an hour before going to bed, and in any case preferably between 22.00 and 00.00.
Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Supplements are not intended as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of children under three years, do not take during pregnancy, store below 25 ° C and protect from light. Excessive use can cause laxative effects due to the presence of mannitol.
Safety information
Using Melatonin in recommended dosages is safe. Taken according to the indications, Melatonin is generally well tolerated and free from particular side effects.
Numerous scientific publications and studies confirm the safety of Melatonin.
Even at high doses, the medical-scientific literature proves the good tolerance of melatonin, with only mild adverse effects which in type and frequency are similar to those found in placebo.
Pierpaoli® Melatonin Zinc Selenium is not addictive or addictive. By interrupting the administration of exogenous Melatonin, the Pineal gland resumes synthesizing the endogenous molecule in physiological quantities.
It is advisable to always consult your doctor in advance if:
- you are being treated with drugs to ensure that there are no contraindications or the possibility of interactions;
- the use is intended for children and women during lactation;
- they are taking supplements for prolonged periods or "chronically".
Given the lack of studies in this regard, the intake of Melatonin should be avoided during pregnancy.
Interactions
If you are taking medications, it is necessary to consult your doctor before embarking on the integration with Melatonin Zinc Selenium Pierpaoli®, and more generally with any other dietary supplement.
In the presence of particular clinical situations or if you are following drug therapy, it is important to ask for the opinion of the doctor who will be able to evaluate the patient's medical history and advise him in the best possible way.
Although Melatonin has pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic characteristics potentially modulated by other active ingredients, to date no interactions have been found that would cause clinical concern.
Side effects
In clinical studies, the most commonly observed adverse events during administration of Melatonin at higher than indicated doses were somnolence, nausea, headache and dizziness. However, these side effects also occurred in subjects taking placebo and the onset of side effects did not differ significantly for melatonin compared to placebo. Indeed, in numerous clinical trials the percentage of patients reporting an adverse reaction was higher for placebo than for Melatonin, and thus the rate of adverse events for Melatonin was lower than for placebo.
Prolonged use
The use of Melatonin has been shown to be safe in the short and medium term (3-18 months), even at doses higher than those indicated, and more and more studies and clinical data prove the safety of long-term intake.
However, as a precaution, we recommend that you inform your doctor if you use it for prolonged periods or continuously.
