MEDICATION FOR THE TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF HYPERTROPHIC SCARS AND CHELOIDS

Adhesive dressing in soft silicone, thin, discrete and flexible, for the treatment and prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scars.
It is designed for:

• the treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars of new and / or old formation;
• treatment of healed surgical wounds;
• as part of a prevention protocol, it can be used on closed lesions for the prevention of hypertrophic or keloid scars;
• it can be used as protection from the sun's rays (ultraviolet protection factor 7.7).

Minimizes patient pain and wound trauma when dressing changes. It does not require additional fixing systems.
It is thin, flexible and discreet. Can be cut out. It can be worn during all daily activities.
It can be reapplied. A single dressing can be used for several days.
Available in sterile and non-sterile versions. The sterile version is sterilized with ethylene oxide with a process validated according to EN ISO 10993-7 for the EtO residues.

Components

Support in semipermeable film laminate in polyurethane, polyester, viscosabeige TNT, impermeable to fluids and permeable to water vapor.
Safetac soft silicone wound contact layer.

Safetac soft silicone technology applied to Molnlycke dressings minimizes patient pain and injury trauma even in critical situations, or when exudate begins to dry:

• it adapts to the uneven surface of the skin to create a greater contact area, which allows to better distribute the force necessary for removal, preventing skin stripping;
• leaves no residue either on the wound bed or on healthy skin;
• seals the margins of the lesion, preventing the exudate from spreading on the periwound skin, minimizing the risk of maceration;
• it does not adhere to moist surfaces such as open wounds but to dry edges of the lesion.

Each dressing is equipped with a removable protective film made of polyethylene film.

Warnings

Do not use on open wounds.
Position or reposition the product with a margin of 1-2 centimeters beyond the area to be treated.
Do not use in patients sensitive to the components. The product is generally well tolerated. No interactions detected with other substances.
In case of maceration or rash, remove the dressing and allow the skin to recover until the symptom disappears, then continue the treatment gradually increasing the duration of therapy. If the symptom persists, discontinue use and seek advice from a qualified health care practitioner.
For external use.
For the sterile version: do not use if the protective wrapping is damaged or opened before use. Not resterilizable.
The properties of the product are not guaranteed in case of use after the expiry date of the same.

Store at room temperature away from extreme conditions of humidity, dust, pollutants, etc.
Validity for intact packaging: 3 years.
