Self Adhesive Dressing With Safetac® For Scar Management

Description

Mepiform® is designed to manage existing hypertrophic and keloid scars and to prevent new ones from appearing over time. Safetac® layer minimizes pain and trauma when changing dressing. It is made of silicone , a material capable of having a positive impact on hypertrophic and keloid scars.

When used for prevention purposes, patients should wear it for between two and six months, depending on the condition of the scar. Ideally, it should be worn 24 hours a day, except when bathing or showering.

HOW DOES MEPIFORM WORK?

It has been empirically shown that topical silicone has a positive effect in the treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars. It can take three months to a year or more for an old scar to improve, depending on the condition of the tissue.
