Eye Drops

It is an eye drops based on 0.3% long-chain hyaluronic acid and 0.1% Edta.

Azulene eye drops lubricate and hydrate the ocular surface and is particularly indicated in dry eye and when the ocular surface is damaged. This is because the high concentration of hyaluronic acid, as demonstrated by numerous clinical studies, favors the re-epithelialization of the damaged corneal epithelium. Furthermore, the long chain prevents the formation of pro-inflammatory hyaluronic acid particles and during the blink it enhances the lubricating action. Thanks to its very high ability to incorporate water molecules, hyaluronic acid helps to reintegrate and stabilize the tear film.

Edta acts as a chelator and is useful in all corneal pathologies caused by foreign bodies, especially alkaline cations. This is why it is particularly suitable for ocular surface diseases due to air pollution and fine dust. It also has the ability to reduce the osmolarity of the tear, which in the case of dry eye is in itself high, increasing the bioavailability of water in the tear film.
