Antimicrobial foam dressing for burns and low to moderately exuding wounds.

Mepilex® Ag is the versatile antimicrobial foam dressing for situations where antimicrobial action is required to reduce the microbial load in the wound. It is designed for low to moderately exuding wounds and burns. It can be used to treat foot and leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and partial thickness burns.

This silver particle foam dressing is able to inactivate pathogenic wound microorganisms (bacteria and fungi) within 30 minutes, as demonstrated by in vitro tests. An international consensus document concluded that antimicrobial action is indicated to help reduce the microbial load in infected wounds. In addition, it acts as an antimicrobial barrier in wounds at high risk of infection or reinfection.

Mepilex® Ag gently adheres with Safetac® , the original adhesive silicone contact layer that minimizes pain. This way your patients can experience less pain when changing dressing.

When to use Mepilex® Ag

Mepilex Ag can be used to manage low to moderately exuding wounds, such as foot and leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and partial thickness burns. Can be used under compression bandages. Mepilex Ag can be used on infected wounds as part of a treatment regimen under the supervision of a qualified healthcare practitioner.

How to use Mepilex® Ag

See how simple it is to apply our Mepilex Ag all-in-one dressing. Start by cleaning the wound before applying the dressing. For best results, Mepilex Ag should overlap the surrounding dry skin by at least 1-2 cm for the smaller sizes (sizes up to 12.5 x 12.5 cm) and by 5 cm for the larger sizes in order to protect surrounding skin from maceration and excoriation and secure dressing. Try Tubifast ® if dressing fixation is required.
