Mepilex® Border Flex with proprietary Flex technology is an “all-in-one” dressing that guarantees better conformability and stability during use. Handles bacterial exudate, retaining it better than other foam dressings. It is designed to treat a wide range of acute and chronic exuding wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, skin lacerations and traumatic wounds.

The proprietary Flex technology allows for 360-degree extensibility, thanks to the Y-cuts present in its retention and dispersion layers. It adapts to body shapes, even in difficult-to-dress positions, and stays stable longer than other dressings.

Thanks to its fibers that absorb 40% compared to Mepilex® Border, the retention layer manages both normal and viscous exudate, retaining fluids and ensuring prolonged effectiveness of the dressing. In fluid absorbency tests, Mepilex® Border Flex was found to be 125% higher than other all-in-one dressing brands.

The extremely breathable protection film features an exudate monitoring system and a grid of equidistant points that serve to monitor and record the progress of fluids, without disturbing the wound. This information on fluid progress can be recorded and shared between different shifts or nursing visits, avoiding excessive dressing changes.

Overall, the five-layer structure is able to absorb, channel and retain bacterial exudate, preventing it from contaminating the wound bed and preventing new access, even under compression.
