Monogen Food Powder Nutricia Food Supplement

Monogen is a nutritionally complete low-fat, low-LCT-rich, MCT-rich powdered food with whole cow's milk whey proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

Indications

Monogen is indicated in the dietary management of infants and children suffering from diseases that require a low intake of LCT and a high intake of MCT such as disorders of the lymphatic system such as: type 1 hyperlipoproteinemia, defect in the oxidation of fatty acids, intestinal lymphangiectasia , chylothorax.

Also suitable for post-surgical feeding of short bowel syndrome.

Use and doses

The diet must be supplemented with natural proteins and other nutrients in the quantities prescribed by the doctor to achieve the required needs. The recommended dilution is 16.8% w / v (for example a 5.6g measuring cup of Monogen should be dissolved in 30ml of water).

Osmolality

The osmolality of Monogen at the recommended dilution is 235 mOsmol / Kg.

Important notices

The level of fatty acids should be carefully monitored and, if necessary, supplemented as needed. Suitable as the sole source of nutrition for infants and as a supplement for children and adults. Do not use injecting.

The recommended dilutions are purely indicative; the quantities must always be established by the doctor.

Important note

The powdered formula is not sterile so it is recommended, where possible, to prepare it immediately before administration and consume it within 1 hour. Shake well before use. Discard the reconstituted and unused product.
