Lavonase, shown in the figure, is a patented sterile disposable medical device for irrigation of the nasal cavities and nasopharynx.

It is made up

• A sterile disposable outflow system which includes a tube, 60 cm long, connected on one side to a perforator and on the other side to an irrigation nozzle;
• A bag , containing physiological solution, 0.9% NaCl, sterile, equipped with a valve for the possible insertion of drugs (on medical advice) and with a second valve in which the perforator of the outflow system is inserted;
• A clamp to close the tube while piercing the valve of the bag with the perforator;
• A suction cup to hang the bag.

The nozzle is inserted into the nasal vestibule up to the nasal valve area, causing it to dilate and thus allowing better propagation of the solution inside the nasal cavity: the solution spreads like a fan inside the nasal cavity. The head must remain tilted forward throughout the nasal irrigation phase; the physiological solution contained in the bag must be heated to 35/40 ° C before use.
