Neoxidin Hands

Medical Surgical Unit, registration No. 16594.
Antiseptic liquid soap.
Chlorhexidine gluconate is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, fungi and viruses. The activity of chlorhexidine is pH dependent, with an optimal range from 5.50-7.00 which corresponds to the pH of body surfaces and tissues. However, within the pH range from 5.00 to 8.00, the antibacterial activity varies according to the microorganism and the type of buffer solution used. As an antiseptic for the hands, chlorhexidine has the following characteristics compared to the other active ingredients:
1. Rapidity of action (within 15 seconds);
2. Immediate effect: after a single application it reduces the resident skin bacterial flora by 86%, compared to 68% for povidone-iodine and 47% for hexachlorophene;
3. Persistence of effect: one of the most important advantages of chlorhexidine is its strong affinity with the skin. It is not absorbed but adsorbed and remains on the skin for several hours retaining its activity.
4. Efficacy of chlorhexidine + detergent.
5. Effectiveness in the presence of blood.

How to use
Antiseptic hand washing
- Operating room in the preparation of the hands before surgery: moisten the hands with running water, pour about 4 ml of product (4 ml correspond to 1 stroke of the dispenser) on the parts to be treated, systematically rub the solution for about 1 minute, using the brush and the small knife to thoroughly clean the nails; rinse with running water, repeat the washing prolonging it for 2 minutes and rinse and dry with a sterile cloth.
- Lane, in the disinfection and cleaning of hands to prevent cross-infections: moisten the hands with running water, pour about 4 ml of product (4 ml correspond to 1 stroke of the dispenser) on the palm of the hand, systematically rub the solution on the hands and wrists for about 1 minute, using the brush and knife to thoroughly clean the nails and rinse with running water.
Thorough washing of the patient before surgery: moisten the part of the body to be treated, wash with the product (30 ml), rinse with running water and repeat the wash. If a soap has been used for the preliminary cleaning of the skin, it is advisable, given the incompatibility of chlorhexidine with soaps, to rinse with tap water before applying Neoxidina Mani.
