Vitamin K2, chemically defined menaquinone, is a lipophilic vitamin produced by bacterial fermentation. Its chemical structure belongs to the class of quinones, similarly to coenzyme Q10, which have the ability to accept and donate electrons by participating in various redox reactions at the physiological level. The patented formulation MenaQ7, present in Terranova supplements, is the biologically most active form of long side isoprene chain menaquinone. At a physiological level, Vitamin K plays a role in blood coagulation thanks to its redox action, in fact 8 plasma proteins all dependent on Vitamin K come into play in the coagulation cascade. It is important to remember that the specific antagonist of this Vitamin is dicumarol. It is useful to integrate Vitamin K2 in case of blood loss. Vitamin K is extremely important in the control of bone problems, to be associated with Vitamin D3, as it allows the activation of a protein, Osteocalcin, synthesized by osteoblasts, which plays a fundamental role in fixing calcium to the bone. Stabilized rice bran very rich source of vitamin E and its isomers, B vitamins, minerals, fibers and essential fatty acids.
