Lithium has a calming effect on humans thanks to its action on the cellular permeability of the nervous system. It contributes to the thymic balance, avoiding the alternating phases of agitation and prostration, of depression and vivacity. Stabilizes the brain enzymes involved in the metabolism of substances mediating nerve transmissions. It improves the tolerance to carbon hydrates (by activating exosinase, a natural ferment that makes glucose assimilable). Improves urinary elimination functions, especially urea and uric acid.
