Ostacol is a food supplement consisting of three substances with the documented property of reducing plasma cholesterol levels, in association with an adequate diet.
When to use Ostacol
The excess of cholesterol in the blood certainly depends on a diet that is too high in fat, but it is often amplified by a familiar metabolic problem: the endogenous hyperproduction of cholesterol. While a low-fat diet helps to limit exogenous or dietary cholesterol, some natural substances can instead reduce endogenous overproduction of cholesterol. For this reason, three substances are associated with the property of reducing the endogenous biosynthesis of cholesterol, namely hypolicosanols, fermented red rice, green tea.
How the three elements of Ostacol work
Policosanols are long-chain (28 carbon atoms) alcohols, which have been shown not only to reduce endogenous cholesterol production 1 , but also to lower cholesterol levels better than other substances, such as phytosterols often found in yogurts 2 .
The red yeast (or fermented red rice) of OSTACOL (MonascusPurpureus) contains a substance, monacolin K, which has been shown to be effective in reducing the endogenous hyperproduction of cholesterol, acting in a similar way to synthetic drugs, without however manifesting any side effects 3 .
OSTACOL green tea is a dry extract of the homonymous plant, the same from which the delicious drink is obtained; the polyphenols in green tea not only counteract oxidative stress affecting the arteries, limiting the risk of atherosclerosis 4 , but also contribute to limiting the plasma levels of the so-called "bad" cholesterol, or LDL5 cholesterol.
It can be taken by the diabetic, the celiac, the lactose intolerant.

How to use Ostacol Dietary supplement
It is recommended to take 1 capsule a day, to be taken at the evening meal, accompanied by a glass of natural water at room temperature to facilitate the swallowing of the capsule itself.

It is recommended not to take during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as these are a delicate period in the life of the woman and the child, it is recommended to always hear the doctor's opinion before each administration.
Warnings before taking Ostacol
It is advisable not to exceed the recommended daily dose.
Keep out of the reach of children under 3 years of age.
